This is a series of drawings I created in 1998 called Exercises In Walking Away – In Six Steps as I was in the process of walking away from an old way of life and into a new direction…
It’s taken twelve years, but I’m happy to say that I’ve walked all six steps in this exercise, and this project has been completed.
UPDATE – December 2011 – This is a repeating cycle…
Step One – Confusion

Step Two – Question

Step Three – Revelation

Step Four – Decision

Step Five – Resolution

Step Six – Walking Towards

Thing to remember – Walking away is walking towards
About The Drawings
These drawings are all about 8″x7″ and are pen and ink and colored pencil drawings over mixed-media collages.
The image of the man walking away was inspired by a photograph I saw one day at a gallery in Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station. The original photograph was by an artist named Jack Spencer.
