Quail’s Nest

We’re on the road today…

Heading up the 101 to Salinas, and then across the 68 into Carmel-By-The-Sea.

Tania and I have driven the 101 so many times in our lives together, from our first big road trip in 1989 to Reggae on the River in Northern California, many road trips to Big Sur, including our wedding there, road trips to San Francisco. And today we’re on it again.

Our destination today – Quail’s Nest.

Carmel By The Sea

Time to take a break from the politics and get out of town…

This Sunday, October 12th is our 22nd year anniversary and our friend Erik Bueno (thank you Erik) has invited us to stay for the weekend at his cottage in Carmel-By-The-Sea called Quail’s Nest (the cottages in Carmel have names…)

This is the third time we’ve been to the Nest, but the first time for our anniversary, and our first time with our dogs, Moseley and Suki.

Over the weekend I’ll be posting photos from past Nest adventure. Actually, the blog program will post them – I’m setting them up tonight before we go… Enjoy, and I’ll reply to all emails when we return on Wednesday.

The photo for today was taken on the short walk to the ecological preserve and ocean back in July of 2005, when we made our first trip to the Nest.

Also – Thanks Derek for watching our place while we’re gone.
