Line Abstracts

It was late ’93, and I had painted so many guitars, liquor signs, cities and pop icons… and I was looking for new territory. Picasso was losing ground to Miro as my current favorite artist…

Lines began catching my eye everywhere I looked. I would do quick sketches of cracks in sidewalks, crisscrossing power lines, and little bits of string… and then I would take those sketches to the canvas.

I started to see the world in an abstract fashion.
